You've undoubtedly asked yourself some or all of the following questions if you're a solopreneur, consultant, business owner, or independent professional:
* How can I increase the number of clients I have?
* What can I do to improve my clientele?
* How can I sell more to my current clients?
* Is it possible to make more money and still have a life?
* Why are sales efforts sometimes so difficult?
* Is there a "proper" way to sell something?
* How can I get practical advice when I need it?
* When will this become less difficult?
So, I've got some answers for you. Most sales training providers will convince you that sales training is the solution to your sales and marketing problems. Most marketing consultants will tell you that marketing consulting is the answer.
That simply isn't the case.
If anything, you need to UNlearn what you've been taught in sales training, marketing seminars, and sales books. To begin leveraging and recognizing the power of selling differently, you must reconnect with how to sell based on WHO you are.

And, coming from someone like me, here's something new and different: You don't need to learn how to sell.
Sales training (or any training) is for those who don't know what they don't know. My clientele are usually highly intelligent. However, they've learned to sell from the top down, employing gimmicks, creative words, duplicitous closing techniques, and phony rapport-building. Nothing works or lasts because it's an outside-in approach that tries to fit you into a mold that you don't fit.
A truly effective strategy can help you unlock your mind and sell FOR REAL. It's more genuine, and it works and lasts because you start selling from the inside out — based on WHO you are, not on a set of outward behaviors that only a small proportion of "old school" salesmen can master.
Consider that for a moment. You know how to sell (or at the very least, you realize that what a lot of sales training SAYS is the way to sell isn't the way to sell). You've probably had some sales training and attended a few sales seminars; you've probably read a few sales or marketing books; and you've probably even heard some fluffy woo-woo talks that call themselves sales training; but none of it has stuck with you because none of it seemed relevant to your desire to help people by providing genuine value.
You need a personal sales and marketing approach that effortlessly blends your natural self with your strongest message, delivering the most value to your greatest prospects with the least amount of time and effort.
Then you'll need a strategy and someone to hold you accountable (a sales manager, mentor, or colleague) to help you execute it day by day, prospect by prospect.
True sales and marketing effectiveness is a process, not an event, unlike typical sales training. And it's always from the inside out. That is, rather than sales training gimmicks or external approaches, it focuses on internal skills and long-term tools.
You should be cautious that many marketing consultants provide extensive designs but no instruments when choosing a sales and marketing professional. Furthermore, a lot of sales training focuses on specific tools rather than an entire strategy.
You'll want to find a resource that combines big-picture marketing strategy with day-to-day selling skills so that your marketing WORKS and more sales are made. Nobody requires one-size-fits-all sales training or good-luck-with-your-marketing-plan consulting. To get the business solutions you need, all you need is a unique set of keys. There isn't a cookie cutter in sight. You aren't a cookie.
